There are several approaches to mobile dwelling. Some of these are traditional RV categories, but non-traditional methods such as car/truck camping as well should be considered. This article aims to describe at a high level each of the possible options available to you. Many times within these options, there are small twists or variations on a style. This article doesn’t aim to dissect these subtle differences and will therefore categorize these items together.
For example, within the Travel Trailer category there are traditional travel trailers that are typically 16-40 feet long. They’re typically tin & board or aluminium & fiberglass construction. However, there is a small subset within this group, typified by the brands Scamp and Casita where the trailers may be as small as 13ft and the construction is two fiberglass clam shells joined together horizontally in the middle.
While there are some differences between a 40ft Travel Trailer and an 13ft Scamp, they’re far more similar than they are different, and this article will attempt to focus on those similarities.
